CAMRA brings environmental awareness to the GBBF
CAMRA's flagship event, the Great British Beer Festival, will be championing the merits of gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, organic and coeliac-friendly beers at a stand aptly titled Bar UnusuALE. Running from August 4th-8th, the Festival is a true celebration of UK and World beer, with over 450 different varieties on show this year. However, it is the 'Bar UnusuALE' where the beer list reaches its most eclectic peak, with a plethora of brews to whet the taste buds of the most environmentally-conscious Festival-goer. Louise Ashworth, CAMRA Head of Marketing, explains: 'We at CAMRA have always pledged to find a beer to suit every Festival-goer's needs. The 'Bar UnusuALE' stand is a vital addition to the Festival as it caters for drinkers who may prefer consuming organic produce in their daily lives, who may not agree with conventional brewing methods, or who may otherwise be restricted from drinking conventional beers due to their staple ingredients. 'Many brewers across the UK have found there is a great demand in particular for brewing organic and gluten-free beers, and have found a definite niche in the market for their beers. From CAMRA's point of view it's great to see brewers offering a diverse range to the consumer, and we will be continuing to celebrate such innovation in the industry.' Ashworth concluded: 'This year on the Bar UnusuALE, Festival-goers can sample beers from some of Britain's leading brewers such as Bath, Hopback, Spectrum and St Peter's. The volunteers running the bar will be highly knowledgeable about the beers, therefore we challenge Festival-goers with any dietary requirements, ethical considerations, or general curiousities to visit the bar and find a beer to suit their needs. With such a vast choice, almost anything is possible!' See what beers are available at Bar UnusuALE Back to: |
