    What's the ap-peel?

On my third day as CAMRA festival reporter at the Great British Beer Festival, rather than visit the bars and beers I was familiar with I decided to venture outside my comfort zone and explore the mysterious world of cider and perry.

As a real ale enthusiast, I was largely ignorant of these curiously named drinks and was keen to learn more about them and understand how big a part cider and perry play at the GBBF. Of course I didn't assume that festival goer's only come here for beer - this much is ...

What a show of flair and creativity by today's Festival-goers! Resuming Hat Day, one of the most important dates on the UK Festival calendar (we at CAMRA never exaggerate), we are pleased to announce that the competition was rigorously judged, with the overall winner, Chito Salarza-Grant, wowing judges with a hat that would dwarf one of the late Marie Antoinette's wigs!

CAMRA can happily report that its Girls Guide beer tours were another rousing success, with new converts to real ale impressed by beer writer Melissa Cole's eclectic beer trail around the Festival, including liquorice and lemongrass beers, ...

Today the Festival went virtual to enable Festival-goers to get even more out of the event!

CAMRA today held the longest and fastest beer trail across Britain, taking in almost a thousand miles of good beer. Hosted by Official London Ale Taster, Steve Williams, CAMRA's 'RealAleLive' tasting on Twitter was a rousing success, with over 850 people signing up to find out more about this revolutionary new style of beer tastings.

From Cornwall to north east Scotland, the tasting captured beers of all styles, with Festival-goers busily 'Twitpiccing' (definitely not a word!), providing feedback on the beers, and ...

On a day when the Festival experienced an increase of over 1,200 people for the Festival trade session compared to 2009, CAMRA is celebrating another encouraging opening day, and the signs are showing this could be another record breaking year. We hope!

Beer and health is very much on the agenda with new research in a press story circulating this morning revealing how the calorie and alcohol content in beer makes it the natural choice when looking to lead a healthy lifestyle. Great tabloid coverage on the opening morning, coupled with broadcasters questioning the press team on this latest ...

To help with a PR story we are putting together on the eve of the Great British Beer Festival, we are asking people to answer a question about British military heroes in relation to this year's Festival theme. In return people will be entered into a draw to win a pair of tickets to see the comedian Al Murray, Pub Landlord, in London (Hammersmith Apollo) on October 10th.

In relation to the Military Heroes theme at this year's GBBF, Marc Holmes, Festival organiser, said:

'I've decided that as this is the Great British Beer Festival, we should have ...

The beer list for the Bieres Sans Frontieres bars has now gone live on the site.

View the Bieres Sans Frontieres Beer list now.

Bieres Sans Frontieres (BSF) has grown in size over the years and has been able to introduce many new beers to the British market. We usually feature beers that aren't easy to find in the UK and we were the first to sell cask-conditioned beer from America and Italy.

This year we are featuring over 350 beers on the BSF bar and we have doubled the number of beers from the US.
